
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in United States. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of America's women's national soccer team, along with Megan Rapinoe. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 when she was picked to be part of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out in second place. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was second in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which made her the most youthful and sixth-highest prolific player to achieve 20 goals in one year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was included in the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
