Anamaria is an Romanian Actress. Her debut on screen was through her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. French, German English and Romanian are all spoken fluently. Her father is a director of the theater at one of Romania's finest acting schools. She was awarded with the Best Female Actor Award in 2000 at the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her a European Shooting Star in 2008. Aside from her brilliant performance in Sex Traffic, Anamaria Marinca is most famous for her role in Romanian artist film 4 months 3 Weeks 2 Days. This film won several accolades including being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress from the The London Film Critics. In 2007, her role on Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 months 3 weeks and 2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks and two days) earned her the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two other awards, the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her work. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, and also in the Romanian Drama Boogie. In the feature film Fury (2014) the actress was Irma she was an German woman who was Emma's aunt.
