Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known for his role as the star of the well-known TV series 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. His interest in acting began in his early college days. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on film and television it is his characters on the small screen that brought him fame and a large fan following. He has been able to seamlessly play the roles of characters on both sides of the law to grab an audience's focus. When he first appeared on television, for his debut production, he played an infamous serial killer. Then, he played the character of an NYPD Investigator. In recognition of his performance in the small screen, he's won many times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards. The piercingly blue eyes of his eyes are thought to be the most appealing aspect of his appearance. They have been utilized for portraying rough characters, and make them more appealing. He was featured in 2006 when he was included in People's publication's Sexiest Men Alive list.
